Just Married!

Hi, I’m Randy Hoese and I’m married to Melita Villicorta. I met her the “old fashioned” way… online. We met in 2002 on a wonderful website called ChristianCafe.com. We then  proceeded to get married in June of 2003.

Meeting your future spouse online used to be rare and prior to the internet, if a man met his future spouse from another country she was commonly referred to as “a mail order bride”. Well the internet has changed all that and it’s now very common for people to meet online. You can read my detailed review of the dating site that I highly recommend.

Neither of us have ever been married before and neither of us really considered what marrying someone from a different culture would mean on a practical, day to day level. Actually, we thought we did but you can read all you want to try to prepare yourselves but it’s likely to be much different than you would expect.

This site is about just that. What it’s like to be married to a Filipina in particular but it also would pertain to many other countries and cultures as well.  I’ve learned so much about the Philippines and have grown to love that country and it’s people very much.
